Scarvagh Farm Sale 2008

Posted 24 September 2008

Scarvagh House held the fourth inaugural Farm Sale on Saturday 20th Sep, beginning proceedings at 2pm. The sale this year expanded on last years 2 and 3yr olds by adding Yearlings and broodmares to the catalogue.

The bonus scheme’s put in place last year, once again played an intigral part of the selling process.

1. Any three year old (born ’05) in the sale that wins a point to point in the UK or Ireland as a 4 year old automatically receives a bonus of £1000.

2. Any three year old (born ’05) in the sale that wins a ‘bumper’ as a 4 year old automatically receives a bonus of £5000

3. Any broodmare bought who produces a filly foal in ‘09’, is entitled to a free return to the same stallion, or another stallion of the same price on the Scarvagh roster.

The sale concluded at 7pm on Saturday evening after a sound days trading. A 70% clearance rate illustrated the realism of the seller’s interpretation of the market and also the quality of horses on show. The sale was very well supported by our English and Irish clients with renowned judges such as: Philip Rothwell, Paul Webber, Michael Stroud, Kevin Ross etc all among the purchasers.

Scarvagh House would like to thank all those who bought horses on the day and wish them every success in the future
