Pedigree

Tamayaz, a son of Gone West, gives breeders a real chance to tap into the Mr Prospector line which has enjoyed so much international success. With the late Zafonic (by Gone West out of a The Minstrel, mare the same lineage cross as Tamayaz) having such strong years in ’05, ’06 & ‘07 Tamayaz looks sure to continue his past trend and be popular with breeders into 2008.
- Tamayaz produced an impressive display to win the Rose Of Lancaster Stakes (Gr 3) by 5 lengths, defeating the Group One winner Glory Of Dancer and earning himself a Timeform rating of 121.
- Being from the Mr Prospector sire line, Tamayaz has the ability to handle dirt, leading him to victories at Nad Al Sheba at the World Cup meeting, as well as earning a run in the Breeder’s Cup Classic against some of the best horse in America. Such qualities will have helped Tamayaz gain the stakes winner she has had to date, including Conservation, who won on dirt in the US.
- The average winning distance of his offspring is just over 6f which shows how Tamayaz injects speed into pedigrees.
- Tamayaz is not the first stallion from this family. His dam, Minstrelsy, is a half-sister to Sweet Alliance, the dam of Shareef Dancer, the Champion 3-year-old in Europe and leading sire, himself a half brother to the very successful National Hunt Sire Zaffaran.
- It is clear from the stakes winners Tamayaz has had to date that he has a likening to Dixieland Band. Dixieland Band is the broodmare sire of Conservation, Tamayaz’s leading stakes winner, and also of another leading earner for Tamayaz, Demetra’s Love.
- Northern Dancer line stallions that look sure to suit Tamayaz include Danzig. Mares holding strains of Nijinsky have had great successes with the Mr. Prospector line. Other Northern Dancer line horses which look sure to fit with Tamayaz include sons of Night Shift, Be My Guest and Sadler’s Wells.
- Tamayaz is inbred to Teddy so any mare carrying Hyperion would suit. The like of Sinndar, Dubai Millennium and Galileo have all been bred on this cross.
